February #InspirationForTheNation

Once a month I will be posting about something inspiring under #InspirationForThe Nation…and for this week, I have to highlight 27-year-old Cassie De Pecol who has visited every country in the world. That is 196 countries, which she accomplished in 18 months and 26 days. WOW!

I read this story on All4women, a blog I follow and it is truly amazing. Read more here

So I decided to research a little about this as I wasn’t even sure of how many countries there actually were in the world before I read this article. It is somewhat embarrassing to admit, but I never thought of finding out. This year I am determined to learn new things, so I wanted to share this with you too, just in case you didn’t know.

Firstly there are 7 continents that make up the world. They are Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America & South America.

  4. United Kingdom
  5. France
  6. Australia
  7. Japan
  8. USA
  9. Scotland
  10. Indonesia

Going back to #Expedition196 – what I loved about Cassie’s website is the fact that she has various places to visit all on one site – so we are able to follow her journey and be educated on the beauty of the countries she visited through her eyes. Another important addition to the website is a blog post about Traveling alone as a woman… this is a must read.
